hi dr. my husband had a bowel obstruction and had a nose tube, till 11 nov. is it normal, that he still has stomach cramps and feel discomfortable?

Yes: Bowel obstructions are commonly caused by scar tissue from prior abdominal surgery. Many times an acute episode will resolve with nasogastric tube placement for a few days-until the patient starts passing gas or bowel movements resume. Can certainly have recurrent episodes. Sometimes it requires surgery to break up the scar tissue if the GI tract does not open up.

i take this medicine called minocycline which treats acne but i dont know if thats the reason my head hurts or my fingers numb randomly and my stomach hurts?

Side effects differ: Minocycline side effects can include headache and abdominal pain (stomachache), but should not be causing numbness in your fingers. Please contact the doctor prescribing the medication for further advice. Also, look at when the numbness occurs and keep track of that to help that doctor help you figure this out.

ive been experiencing pain in left testicle and i feel something swollen on the tube or i dont know what its called. its above the testicle not on it. and its hurts sometimes especially when im sexually aroused. it goes away and comes somtime?

: It sounds like you may have epididymitis, an infection that generally requires but is easily treated with antibiotics. You need a testicular ultrasound to diagnose and rule out rare but more serious problems. With the holiday weekend upon us, your best bet is to go to an urgent care or emergency department today. You will feel much better if you deal with this now.

See gynecologist: I suggest you see a gynecologist to determine, if there is a connection between the fact that you had your tubes tied and the lump that you feel.

i am going for labs for ongoing stomach/chest pain but they say 6 tubes may be needed, more than usual 4. can they just use 4 tubes versus 6 for labs?

LAB TESTIMG: It depends on the labs your doctor ordered. Check with your doctor if you need to be fasting. If you are worried about getting too much drawn on one day, ask him to give two lab orders and break up the draw.

i have a clear sticky discharge that sticks to the walls of my nose & builds up until the nostril is full.  then it starts going down the nasal tube.  i pull it out but it just keeps coming. what's it?

Diarrhea and abdominal (stomach) pain can be caused by a number of issues - anything from a viral illness that goes away on its own in a few days to something potentially more serious, requiring additional testing or prescription medication.  It's impossible to recommend a specific treatment without knowing the cause of the problem, and sometimes simply taking medication over the counter to hid the symptoms can let a more serious problem get worse without seeking medical attention.

I would recommend you call your doctor now and tell them what's happening.  I would not recommend taking any over the counter medication without being evaluated to find out what's wrong.
