Sometimes, topical or oral antibiotic is required.

Skin Sensitization: The skin has changed in those areas so that it is more sensitive to irritants and allergens.  Check with a dermatologist to get  suggestions for decreasing the sensitivity.

Several simple thing: Topical steroids otc. Work better if you apply at night and wear barrier gloves. Also, when you shampoo, use a tar-based shapoo which will penetrate the skin of your hands. If these don't work, see your dermatologist!

Go see family doctor: You didn't describe what you were doing when this happened but assuming that you injured yourself, you need an x-ray to look for broken bone(s). At the very least, get evaluated looking for nerve damage. Otoh, many people can "crack their knuckles" w/o any pain. But if it hurts & causes numbness, it's time to get evaluated. Good luck!
