Unlikely: as the repair was done 4 Wks ago  , collagen tissue already formed which keep the mesh in place , hoe ever call your surgeon for a follow up appointmennt  do not do any heavy activity till your surgeons clears

hello. i had an umbilical hernia repair 13 days ago. everything was going ok until 2 days ago. now whenever i stand or bend i have excruciating pain where the hernia was. i haven't done anything to tear my sutures, and i haven't felt anything pop or tear

Could be normal but: It depend how is the hernia is repaired open or laparoscopic,with or without a screen or mesh.the pain could be normal but unusual to have so much pain without any incident or trauma , my advise is to see your surgeon and share this information . If I was your surgeon I would like to know how you are doing and any changes in the status of your pain .

May be: it is hard to determined what will happen most likely the hernia might come back depend on the size of the screen they use and if you had your surgery open or laparoscopic  you have good chance you will be ok but again is unpredictable good luck
