Ventral displaced: Ventral - towards the front of your body.  Dorsal means towards the back of your body.  So the cord is displaced forward from a typical neutral location.

Please discuss the difference with your surgeon.

Need to know symptom: Superior = top part. Endplate = part of bone that forms the "shelf" of the 4th &amp; 5th vertebra in your neck. The irregularities (not a smooth surface) can point to spondylitis or arthritis of the neck. The nerves that come out from that level (C4, C5) go to the forearm &amp; are used for sensation &amp; movement. If you have symptoms in that area, the X-ray can explain it; otherwise, it's meaningless X-ray
