What does it mean when your x-ray report says " there is mild superior endplate irregularities at c4-c5". then it also says "the upper right foram?

Need to know symptom: Superior = top part. Endplate = part of bone that forms the "shelf" of the 4th & 5th vertebra in your neck. The irregularities (not a smooth surface) can point to spondylitis or arthritis of the neck. The nerves that come out from that level (C4, C5) go to the forearm & are used for sensation & movement. If you have symptoms in that area, the X-ray can explain it; otherwise, it's meaningless X-ray

See below : The vertebral end played are typically sharp and well defined on X-ray. End plate irregularities just refers to that loss in distinction. There are several possible causes for this with degeneration and old trauma being among the more common causes. I would discuss directly with your doctor.
