i have three cyst on one kidney less than 2cm and 5 on the other kidney, also less than 2 cm. # have peripheral calcification. i am very worried. ?

Worried about what?: You apparently saw a doctor to have the imagining studies done. Did you have any symptoms? What did the doctor who ordered the studies tell you about the imaging results? Cysts in the kidney are not uncommon and simple cysts are not a cause for concern.

mammogram and ultrasound showed a 4.8 cm cyst in left breast that appears to be benign. its been three weeks and now i no longer can feel the cyst at all. is it possible for a cyst that large in size to go away on its own?

: Yes, that is not at all unusual. Such cysts often increase and decrease in response to hormone fluctuations with your normal cycles.

during my pregnancy, ultrasound found a 3 cm cyst with calcified walls on my spleen. is this dangerous? how reliable is us in this case?

I have: Never run into this issue.  Are you sure they said the spleen?  The cyst isnt unusual but the spleen deal, not sure what to make of that one.  I assume u have no medical problems, correct? I'll bet it's an incidental finding of no consequence but dont take my advise; f/u with your doctor.  I'm not sure how they saw the spleen on a fetal scan so check to make sure.  Good luck.

i had a laparoscopy check to see if i have endrometriosis. a 3 cm cyst was found in my ovaries. i don't want to get a general anesthetic when it's removed.  can i get a spinal instead?

It is very: Difficult to perform laparoscopy under spinal anesthesia. Your best bet is to discuss your concerns with the anesthesiologist and see if you feel better afterwards. Alternatively, maybe the procedure can be done open and you can try to get it done under spinal with ga as a backup.

i have been having back pain under my ribs and one day severe spasms - went for ct scan and it showed a 3 cm cyst in my kidney??? should i see a urologist for this. my family doctor doesn't think this should cause pain?

Cms: 1 centimeter equals 0.39 inch. Therefore 6.4 cms equals  approximately 2.5 inches. I hope this helps you calculate the size oh your cysts in inches.

Retention cyst: The best way to remove it is with surgery. This may be a minor surgery with local or more involved depending on where it is.

Not likely: Ovarian cysts are exceedingly common and usually benign. The size you indicate (about 1 inch) is well within the range for normal ovaries. Your doctor can recheck the ovaries in 4 to 6 weeks. If the cysts are normal they will be changing and over time will go away, but be repaced with more cysts. If the cysts are not normal, they will continue to enlarge and would eventually require treatment.

Possible: When an ovarian cyst ruptures, it can release some fluid which can irritate the abdomen. This pain should go away in a few days. Take Ibuprofen for pain. Ovarian cysts are normal.

Accepted Answer

No antibiotic.: Are you referring to an ovarian hemorrhagic cyst?  They are not caused by infection, so antibiotics will have no effect.  They are usually considered presumptive "functional" cysts and tend to resolve in 1 or 2 cycles, so the initial management  is usually follow up in 6-8 weeks or so.
