Anything: H. Pylori is a bacterium which often infects the stomach. It can lead to gastric or duodenal ulcers and increases the risk of stomach cancer. It is easily treated with antibiotics and acid suppression. It doesn't prevent you from eating any foods. Your risk of ulcers is higher i'd you take nsaids (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.) though.

H. Pylori: If you had h. Pylori, you should be treated for it since the treatment course is simple.  Once you achieved eradication of the bacteria, you should not have symptoms from it.  If continue to have this problem, you might want to assess the gallbladder.  Other etiologies are possible, but less likely.  I would evaluate the gallbladder next.

Regular food: There is nothing that you can eat that is more acidic than the hydrochloric acid that is already produced by the stomach

2 questions here: If Helicobacter pylori has been documented in association with ulcer, then treatment is requisite.Not treating this bacteria places you at risk for ulcer non-healing, ulcer recurrence, &amp; even stomach cancer.There are several antibiotic combinations that work quite effectively in eradicating H.pylori. After completion of antibiotics, check stool to document clearance. Regarding diet, please re-ask.

Foods to avoid: 1) greasy foods, 2). Spicy foods, 3). Dark sodas or caffeinated drinks, 4). Orange juice -- too acidic, 5). All products with caffeine- like chocolates etc, 6). Ibuprofen/ motrin/ advil ---- tylenol (acetaminophen) or Acetaminophen is ok to take. 

In general-- soups are good for stomach. Healthy eating habits like nuts, fruits, vegetables, meats-- cooked via boiling or baking or grilling is good.

Would not work.: H pylori has  all of the nutrients that it needs in the mucus layer of  the stomach. There is no way to "starve" it. The only way to get rid of it is treating it with antibiotics. Hope that helps.

Eat normally: There are no foods that will cure H. Pylori gastritis - this has to be treated with antibiotics. Esophagitis usually needs acid reducers but reducing/avoiding caffeine, smoking, and alcohol can help reduce acid reflux. Hope this helps!

no h-pylori... very minor focal intestinal metaplasia... how can i reverse the very very early stages of this? i do eat a fair amount of sodium in foods. i could cut down on that. i also drink a lot of soda and caffeine.

Intestinal metaplasi: This finding occurs in a number of settings- response to H pylori, atrophic gastritis, and in some de novo settings. The risk of neoplasia is still low when an isolated finding, but bears watching. Aside from treatment of helicobacter, other interventions are not known to reverse the change. Unlikely: Unlikely colon cancer as typically not that painful after eating and your age is a bit young. My hunch is you are on a medication for heartburn, maybe it is not working anymore…, you are also on metformin which can cause abdominal complaints….  Talk to your doctor, there are some tests he/she can do and send you to a gastroenterologist if no answer from labs/ultrasounds.
