See PT: If you are having back pain from an excessively arched back, it is best to work first with a physical therapist who can assess your posture. There are many exercises that can help but i cannot recommend any with out seeing you face to face.  Sorry.

my back has been killing me lately. i do some heavy lifting at work but not often. ive already been to physical therapy and the exercises i was given havent been helping. the only thing that makes it feel better is to crack it. what else can i do?

: Back pain that persists beyond 6 weeks should be evaluated with a lumbar x-ray, especially if you’ve followed physical therapy and have been complying with their exercise plans. If back pain causes radiation to the glutes, hamstrings, calves, or feet, there may be SI joint problems, disc herniation, disc slipping/fractures, or pinched nerves. Chiropractic services should be held until diagnosed.

Talk to therapist: Your physical therapist should be able to provide a home exercise program (hep) to perform at home once you complete physicl therapy.  It's important to be instructed on the proper hep so that you prevent re-injury and optimize improvement.

Yoga: There are many reasons and solutions for lower back pain, which is an extremely common complaint.  The main problem often stems from weak trunk muscles.  The muscles of the trunk support the structures of the back, therefore, strengthen the trunk and the back is better supported.  Try yoga, try abdominal exercises, or simply go for brisk walks with good posture.

i have had xrays on my left knee to see what is wrong with it due to it being swollen and hurting back in july. i was diagnosed with have patella in both knees. after physical therapy, my swelling went down - but now its back when i am moving a lot. it doesnt hurt but there is a lot of fluid on the knee and it seems to go away when i work out. but swells when im doing daily activities: walking, etc. wondering if i need to go back to the doctor or continue pt exercises

Unusual: This is not a usual cause of back pain. I have heard of an overgrown bone in the back. You need to see an orthopedist for further evaluation.

im doing physical therapy 3x a week for possible tendinitis in my knee. i noticed my calf has been hurting in back of leg about two days after pt. got tested for blood clots in mid sept & was ok. should i get retested or could it be the exercises?

Likely exercises: Show to Physical Therapist at next session. Go to ER if develop chest pain, cough, or shortness of breath.

Back : Back pain shooting down the left leg is called sciatica.  Sciatica results when a disk, bone spur or stenosis pinches the sciatic nerve as it leaves the back and goes into the leg.  Treatment for sciatica include rest, anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, steroid injections and surgery.  Initial treatment is usually rest, anti-inflammatories followed by physical therapy.  People who do not respond may go onto steroid injections and/or surgery.  Sometimes patients skip physical therapy if the pain is severely aggregated by movement.  This maybe why one doctor is recommending steroid injection first.

Radiating pain: Pain after therapy radiating down the leg to the knee is most likely related to nerve  irritation.  I suggest you go back into the physician who referred you to physical therapy and be reassessed.
