The best!: Compared to alternatives such as fixed bridgework, removable dentures or leaving a missing space open, a dental implant is an incredible, long lasting restoration.  Most patients find the procedure very "easy, " especially compared to a tooth extraction. And...When the implant is restored with its crown, it feels almost exactly like your natural tooth.  It's the future of dentistry!

3 simple steps: 1) diagnostic phase, 2) surgical phase ;  3) restorative phase . Diagnostic steps should start with thorough oral examination ; 3-d ct scan. Surgical step is designed according to restorative guidelines using ct scan.  The final stage (restorative phase) could be completed as early as 3- 4 months following the successful integration of implants.

Not a problem: With implants just placed on top with sinus surgery, you should not blow your nose. In other circumstances there should be no effect.

NHS: My sister in law had the restorative paid for by the nhs but the implants she paid for out of pocket. It may be on a case by case basis so have your dentist check for you. Implants are expensive because of the cost of the education, materials and equipment needed to place them correctly. Labs charge more for restorations as the implant cases require more time and effort. Pts love the results.

dental implants are rigid and cannot adapt as a persons bite changes over time. is this true?

Yes: A healthy implant is what we call osseointegrated and is like a piece of rebar in concrete. In a situation where the implant is for a single tooth or part of a fixed bridge the implants do not physically move up or down when chewing. The restorations on top will wear over time allowing the bite to remain stable.

Stay local: If you have problems after placement then your travel expenses may eat up your savings
A local dentist won't touch implants they didn't place
I am in Florida and have had patients go to Central and South America for cheaper implant fees and return with problems. Stay local

Less than....: In the long term,  a dental implant, restored with a custom abutment &amp; crown will be much less costly &amp; NOT damaging to adjacent teeth (whereas bridges require adjacent teeth to be trimmed down).  At age 39 you need to think long term. Talk to your dentist for their exact cost.
