: Missing information. Was there fresh wet blood from an HIV infected patient on the surface in question? HIV is a fragile germ. It doesn't sit around on surfaces like some common bacteria that infect common scrapes/cuts. No fresh HIV blood= no risk of acquiring HIV from the cited event.

Ring: Soak in soap and gently pull under warm water, if fails try olive oil instead of soap, if fails try thread wrapped around finger & under the ring then pull while rotating.

Be sure to get it checked if you notice it to be hot, swelling, redness, numbness spreading as infection might be arising. Also any injury with metal needs to have up to-date tetanus vaccine
