: Everyone is different.  I would ask dr who knows what your foot problem was/is about their experience n patients like you who had done what you had done.  Will take time.

Not advisable: It would be best to elevate and keep pressure off the ankle unless you have been put into a walking brace or cast.

Fibula?: Two bones make up the "ankle".The ability to use a joint has nothing to do with it's fracture status. Please discuss with your dr asap.

Ankle swelling: Each ankle fracture can vary depending on location and severity.  Sometimes the swelling last longer after initial tx and this is accompanied by pain.  Usually, if swelling is parallel to the level of fracture severity, seeing your pcp for a referral to a specialist is recommended.  Try rest, icing, compression with ankle wrap or brace, and elevation first.  Anti-inflammatory meds recommended.

0-6 weeks: Some ankle fractures can be walked on immediately.

after 8 week of ankle fracture.. if i start to walk without crutches and feel bit pain. should i endure the pain or just keep using crutcher?

Need followup: There is certainly some soreness and pain that can sometimes be expected, even 8 weeks after an ankle fracture.  That being said, you would definitely want follow up with your doctor to make sure your fracture is in fact healed and it is ok for you to be walking on it.  Walking  on a fracture prematurely may cause problems.

jan 27th 2014 i suffered ankle fracture on both the sides of ankle im 85 kgs...its 12 weeks how much time it will take for me to recover n walk normal?

Be patient.: Ankle fractures take quite a while to heal up. You favor it for so long that you have to re-train yourself to walk as well as get your strength back. It may take up to 6-9 months to get out of the limping habit.

i had trimalleolar ankle fracture and am now walking in an aircast, but the pain is quite bad. do i need pt? my dr. said i did not, but i think i do.

Ankle fracture : Physical therapy will help with pain mitigation, improved range of motion, strengthening and proprioception improvement. All of this leads to improved pain and function. Also should help prevent repeat injury.

if i had one minor ankle fracture (medial mallous) and had two screws put in what is progression to walking? (no damage to tissue or tendons)

Relatively quick: physical therapy usually is started right away and time to healing is weeks to months. be sure to eat healthy including adequate calcium, vitD and protein and get adequate rest.

so i got a non disclosed ankle fracture recently was told i could start walking im 7.5 week after fracture but is it normal to have pain in bone above the fracture when walking not constant but comes and goes?

: Yes, pain after fracture and consequent immobility is common and physical therapy is usually needed for range of motion and strengthening training. Follow up with Ortho is recommended in order to assess for healing.
