Not likely: If you woke up with vertigo, and it continues, it is most likely a viral illness. Viral labrynthitis is treated with high-dose steroids. You should try to contact an ear nose and throat doctor for an evaluation within two or three days. Medications like anti-vert can help with the symptoms but steroids can make the problem much better and go away faster with less permanent damage. If your vertigo occurs only when you turn from side to side and lasts just seconds then it is a different problem.

on march 14th, i had vertigo while waking up. diagnosed as bppv & did epley. found improvement. after some days, again came with lesser intense. why?

Why not?: Vertigo can be chronic and intermittent. The Epley maneuver is not necessarily curative. You may have to do it regularly; or, the vertigo may go away and not come back after the next time, with or without the Epley maneuver. As long as the vertigo is not disabling (which it can be), be satisfied that you can keep it under control with simple expedients like the Epley maneuver.

Vertigo: Vertigo can be caused by various things - trauma, migraine, CNS issue, sinus issues, ear problems. The most common type is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). It involves three small bones and fluids in the inner ear. Your doctor can perform a simple test called the Dix-Hallpike maneuver to confirm diagnosis. In most cases, this will resolve on its own or may require medication.

i have a vestibular disorder. since last wednesday my vertigo has been worse than normal. move my head, crouched down and get up. waking up with headache.even a noise out of the blue will trigger it. its not lightheartedness. i know the difference?

: Not feasible to be precise, but let's assume this is peripheral, not central, and if so, may respond to vestibular physical therapy, and possible Epley maneuvers. Whoa there, Linda: Dizziness &amp; vertigo can be frustrating symptoms for doctors because the cause is often obscure. But in an otherwise healthy teenager, the cause is also highly likely to be benign &amp; self-limited. It could be a viral labyrinthitis, which like most viral infections goes away after a few days. 2 days of vertigo is like 2 days of a cold: inconvenient but just be a patient patient &amp; wait it out.

i smoke 5-7 cigarettes a day. sometimes when smoking feeling numbness in entire body and vertigo. usualy after waking up or when tired. why?

Vertigo: You most likely have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Its a common cause of such symptoms. Its due to displacement of crystals in your inner ear. Periods of prolonged inactivity can cause it along with trauma and certain medications but usually idiopathic. Consult an ENT in your area if symptoms persist.
