can a dental problem cause pressure (not pain) in one side of forehead/ temple area and tinnitus? the ear canal was swollen for a couple weeks, but has since improved, but tinnitus remains, as does pressure for 4 wks now. had possible sinus infection?

It's Sinusitis: Your probably have sinusitis.  There are a number of sinus spaces lined with mucous membrane which when dry can not drain properly and get infected.  It can feel like toothache, and they are connected to the ear by the naso-pharynx. Get a humidifier, and see your doctor.

34f. i've had intermittent pressure in left forehead/ temple area for 1 month now. ear sometimes clogged, temple feels tense, sometimes viselike grip forehead. no pain. ent/ dental scans clear. mri mon. what else can it be than a brain tumor? anxious?

Perhaps migraine: Most likely, you are suffering from a migraine variant, but other causes could include TMJ, dentition, sinuses, local inflammation and/ or neuralgias.  Brain tumor would be a very unlikely reason.  Appropriate therapy would allow cessation of problems, and an experienced neurologist could be very helpful

Possibly grinding !: Bruxism , or tooth grinding, along with clenching your teeth together, especially at night time when you are asleep, could be a major cause of headaches and jaw soreness and pain. Have your dentist check you for these signs and report any symptoms to him/her for getting the proper treatment. The treatment could be as simple as fabricating a proper nightguard/bite guard for you. / good luck.!

Many types: There are many different types of implants and prosthetic components on the market. Your surgeon and restorative dentist will use a system that they are comfortable with and that will satisfy the requirements of your reconstruction. Many times custom work is indicated due to implant angulation and existing space. Allow your dentist the latitude to make the best restoration s/he can.

     an untreated dental cavity will usually not be felt. Sometimes you can feel a sensitivity to hot and cold. If the decay is deep and in the nerve of the tooth, then you will have much more throbbing pain, spontaneous pain, lingering pain to hot and cold. This sort of pain can cause head aches and pain to the temple or forehead. The pain can travel. Best thing here is see a dentist.

Referred pain: This is what may be a referred pain.  The nerves come from a bigger nerve around the ear and branch out to the face and teeth. So if you have an infection on a tooth it may feel like anothr tooth and the pain can radiate to other areas like the ear. Also infections spread,  so go to your dentist immediately.

No comparison: Dental x-rays do concentrate in the area the beam is pointed, that is true. However the damaging effects of radiation are cumulative. Spending a day at the beach will expose you to more radiation over a larger area of your body than having dental x-rays once a year. A lead apron with a thyroid collar is also used to protect your body when taking dental x-rays. As the cliche goes, apples to oranges

i need help, i am 29 and all my teeth are rotting out of my head.  i have several cavities, i have pain.  please help. poor and have no dental insurance.

Rampant caries: Call your local dental society for advice. They would probably know who best to contact for reduced fee dental care. See if you are eligible for state programs   such as Medicaid.  Dental schools generally render reduced fee dental care. Also make sure you understand how your eating habits may contribute to dental caries and how to practice good oral hygiene going forward. No: You need a dentist who is gentle and takes his time. Muscle relaxants or benzodiazepens may help.

: Your Dentist is absolutely correct. Stainless steel is not affected by magnets. Have your dental posts ever set off the magnetometer at an airport? Noting to worry about.
