I don't believe so: Hi, an untreated dental cavity will usually not be felt. Sometimes you can feel a sensitivity to hot and cold. If the decay is deep and in the nerve of the tooth, then you will have much more throbbing pain, spontaneous pain, lingering pain to hot and cold. This sort of pain can cause head aches and pain to the temple or forehead. The pain can travel. Best thing here is see a dentist.

Unlikely: Symptoms of an untreated dental cavity can vary tremendously from no pain at all to a life threatening space infection that requires hospitalization. Numbness can be caused by many other major things from viral infections to cancer. See your dentist and physician for a thorough exam. Don't rationalize these symptoms away--its better to be checked and know.

See Dentist: Numbness is associated with nerve involvement. Please see a dentist asap for a proper diagnosis. If the decay has penetrated thru to the nerve then some pain or numbness could occur or it could be a bite issue or something unrelated to your teeth. If your dentist does not find a connection you will need to go to your doctor to test for other possible causes.

No: An untreated dental cavity that has progressed to the point of creating an abscess with swelling would radiate heat, cause a fever, and may cause symptoms that would include a felling of numbness. But, untreated dental decay would not cause numbness.
