Possible: Not eating with Effexor (venlafaxine) may cause the vomiting but even more common is Effexor (venlafaxine) withdrawal leading to vomiting due to what is called as ssri (or in this case snri) discontinuation symptoms. This could happen if you skip more than a day of the effexor (venlafaxine).

Numb? No: No, making you feel "numb" mentally is not the desired effect of effexor (venlafaxine).  However, you're also on xanax, which can do the same thing -- or at least sedate you.  You raise the question about your Adderall not working because of Effexor (venlafaxine) -- but it's also possible the xanax is counteracting it.  Hoping you're working with a psychiatrist on these medications -- if not, please do.

Several ways: First, it's not a happy pill.  It should not change your personality.  At low doses, it helps with anxiety, rumination, and just letting go of problems more easily.  At medium doses, it may help with energy.  At higher doses, it can help someone enjoy things more and concentrate better.

Remember, it takes weeks to work though!

Experience with drug and animal studies have been mixed. In some people and animals it calms and in others there has been documented  aggression. I would say it would be possible the medication makes you aggressive. Let your provider know.
