Urinary Frequency: Urinary frequency can be caused by a variety of things. sometimes there are unrelated to underlying disease, and could be due to drinking large amounts of liquid, caffeine intake, pregnancy, or anxiety.

A doctor should be seen immediately if urine is bloody or discolored, burning sensation, strong urge to urinate, loss of bladder control, fever, severe abdominal pain, or strong pain in low back.

Yes: If you are drinking regularly it can be common for you to urinate that frequently. If you are not drinking at all and you have to go every 2 hours I would want to see you and test your urine and perform more tests.

See a urologist: There are several treatments for IC including diet, Elmiron, (pentosan) and instillation of DSMO. See a urologist for help  and advice reguarding what is best for you. If you are seeing someone and not getting the help you need find a support group in your area for patients with IC and ask for referals for a second opinion.There is also evidence that accupuncture can be of help. Maybe...: However you would still need to be completely examined by your dr, especially if this is something that bothers you a lot. Diabetes is certainly something i rule out for my pts when i hear frequent urination. Good luck.

Urination @ night: How much coffee and tea do you drink?  They will make you urinate.  How much liquid do you drink after dinner?  If all is well physically consider cutting back on the above and see.  Peace and good health.

: Emergency small bowel resection due to an obstruction is a serious surgery which takes a while to recover from. You should not expect your bowels to be working properly yet. Are you still on IV fluids? That could explain the frequent urination. Your doctor will gradually increase your diet as your bowels come around. Hang in there. Most of the worst is likely behind you. : Frequent urination at night (nocturia) may occur with normal kidney fx even you limit your fluid intake. Voiding volume is very important in the management of this disorder. A voiding diary and a thorough evaluation with a urologist are required for the diagnosis and treatment. Nocturia needs be treated for your sleep health or vice versa, insomnia +/- overactive bladder syndrome are the culprits.

Many causes exist...: But an evaluation may help find the cause. Usually a cause can be identified, and some behavior/diet/fluid modification can help if it bothers you. Many patients void every 2 hours and are not bothered. The most helpful thing is to provide your physician a 2 day bladder diary. Write down when and how much you drink, any alcohol or caffeine, when you void and when you feel sudden urges.
