See a urologist: There are several treatments for IC including diet, Elmiron, (pentosan) and instillation of DSMO. See a urologist for help and advice reguarding what is best for you. If you are seeing someone and not getting the help you need find a support group in your area for patients with IC and ask for referals for a second opinion.There is also evidence that accupuncture can be of help. In my 40s. Recurring RBC in urine for years. Urologist recommended cystoscopy. Is it really necessary at this point since it's been yrs? If it cancer, wouldn't I have known it by now? Can interstitial cystitis cause this? Would prefer to avoid test?
