None is effective: Bulge at scar is result of tissue laxity that developed with time and following acute swelling post op. It is exacerbated by density of the scar and adherence of the scar to underlying tissues that causes tissues to bunch up at that level.It is not just fat.

ive just had a mini tummy tuck with lipo of flanks. im 10 days post operation. when i sit my lower belly now makes a roll of fat over the incision and the incision tucks in. othis normal due to swelling? will it go down to make a flat belly?

Steroids, cooling, cold lasers, anti-oxidants, carboxytherapy, hormonal manipulation, and other carefully selected topical programs should be consider in consultation with a qualified specialist.

Not if truly vertica: If the skin excess is truly vertically, then a vertical or fleur-de-lis (inverted t) incision may be the best. However in most instances this can be managed with a circumferential scar. In rare instances the vertical excess can be removed with two vertical scars along each side but this is less preferable than a single midline scar.

Keloid.: Some people get lumpy scars called keloids as their skin heals after any sort of trauma - such as a piercing. The best treatment is to remove the piercing jewelry, but you probably don't want to hear that. A dermatologist can inject the keloid with a steroid solution, and that will often decrease the lumpiness substantially.

Improve, not remove.: Scars cannot be removed but there is a large variety of techniques to improve their appearance, both surgical and non-surgical. Your acne should be well-controlled. See a dermatologist to begin your search for an appropriate course of action.
