Warm salt water: I would recommend gargling with a tablespoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water 4 times a day.  Don't vigourously rinse the extraction site because you don't want to disrupt the blood clot.  Lightly rinse and swish with the salt water and spit out.  Don't try to clean out or disrupt the extraction site.

i took 2 panadol (acetaminophen) extra tablets (500mg/tablet) can i take another 2 panadol (acetaminophen) night tablets four hours later ?  p.s : pain after tooth extraction

Call your dentist: It will be a very good idea if you call the dr who performed the surgery on you .. Taking too much pain killers after extractions is not a very nice thing to do

More info needed...: Not all extractions are the same. Was yours difficult, meaning bone resection and sutures? It is not uncommon for a little bleeding to occur if sutures are pulled or if the gingiva is still healing. If concerned, contact your surgeon.

Sure but NO: Sure you can but I wouldn't because it could lead to a deeper level of sedation during IV and possible other complications with the anesthesiologist not wanting to do the case if they know that you did.  It is your risk.

This is common: Most patients complain of a bad odor in mouth for up three weeks especially after having dry sockets.  Rinse with peroxyl and ask your dentist for an irrigation syringe.  This is a plastic syringe that will allow you to clean out your sockets with warm salt water to help them heal and help with bad odor.

It varies: Different patients react differently to different medications.  What is strong and effective for one individual may have lesser effect on another individual.  Your treating dentist or surgeon can discuss what would be appropriate for you depending upon your individual health history and the difficulty of the procedure.

Dry socket risk 24hr: After a full day, if all healing is going well you are probably safe - but waiting another day or two could be a smart thing. As for the chips - some say to wait longer (sharp) - ouch! Definitely ask for a handout from your dentist and ask particular questions too. That's part of their service to you. Hope it heals well.

Depends: Depends on many factors including procedure, size of patient, past drug history.  I assume you are taking hydrocodone/Acetaminophen. Large dose. I would recommend 1 tab q4-6 hrs. If need more, talk to oral surgeon.

is 2000 mg of amoxicillin too much following a tooth extraction,is it ok to take 3 times a day instead of 4?

Probably OK, but...: That's a larger than usual dose and would be likely to cause diarrhea and/or abdominal cramping. But not otherwise likely to be harmful. Discuss the dose (and possible change to 3 times daily) with the doctor or dentist who prescribed it. Good luck.
