Get a DPM evaluation: See the podiatrist to determine if what you actually have is a neuroma.  Injection therapy is one form of treatment, but that relieves the pain acutely.  You need to determine why the pain developed and address that too.  This may be structural.   The podiatrist would evaluate and determine the cause of your pain.  Get checked properly.

That's the neuroma : Itself rubbing on the deep transverse metatarsal ligament, some argue the neuroma rubbing on the metatarsal heads, in either case it is felt to be pathoneumonic for diagnosing the neuroma.

Neuroma: A neuroma is a growth of nerve tissue found between the toes. It brings on pain, a burning sensation, tingling, or numbness. If left untreated, neuromas tend to get worse.  They can be treated with padding, taping, orthotics, pain medications, or surgery.  Using high heels, shoes with small toe box, or with poor padding can make symptoms worse and should be avoided.

+Mulder's sign: If the pain and burning is primarily at the base of the 3rd and 4th toes, then neuroma is highly likely.  If pain is aggravated by tight shoes or tight stockings this would also be an indication.  If the pain is relieved when you remove shoes and it feels better by rubbing the area, a neuroma is highly likely.  Try wider shoes.  Cortisone/alcohol sclerosing injections are helpful, then surgery.

Pain? Yes. Red? No.: Morton's neuroma are affiliated with a "pins and needles" sensation of pain, usually between the toes but occasionally extending to the toes. Foot symptoms: The symptoms could get worse, as the pain likely will not do well with standing and walking.  Orthotics might help transiently, but best approach is to see a podiatrist, or orthopedic surgeon who deals with feet and ankles.  You need to confirm a diagnosis.

i have all the symptoms of a neuroma but mri is normal. my 4th toe feels broken l can't stand longer than 5mins without being in pain. gp no idea

Neuritis.: Having all the symptoms of a neuroma is certainly a good reason to believe that a nerve is involved to some extent. There is other information that be gleaned from a directed physical examination which may help in explaining just where the pain is originating. Perhaps a steroid anesthetic injection may help isolate the area in question as well as help abate the symptoms. It seems reasonable.
