Can be many things: how many months? have you been vaccinated for mumps? it has to be looked at in person

Muscle pain?: If TMJ was a recent issue, you may have been overusing the jaw muscles to protect the joint.  This can be on par with an intense muscle workout and as lactica acid builds they get very sore.  Try taking Ibuprofen if you can for a few days.  Stick with soft foods and apply alternating ice and heat to the area.  If not getting better withing a day or 2, see your dentist about the problem.

Probably not: The traditional approach to TMJ surgery utilizes the same exact incision used for face lifts, so the incision and healing are very cosmetic in nature and usually don't heal with much scarring  at all.

TMJoint: Real solutions can be obtained by a local dentist with extensive training and experience treating patients with tmd (temporomandibular joint dysfunction). There are many palliative, preventative and treatment methods available. This has to be evaluated and customized to your specific situation. It can't be merely given to you over the internet without a clinical evaluation.

Evaluation: You need to be evaluated by a qualified Dentist or Oral Surgeon,  May be TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Bells Palsey, tic Doleroux, etc.  find a good Dental Diagnostician or go to a University Dental School.

Ectopic pain: You can have referred pain.  You can also have a pain-causing problem not related to your TMJ.  Please see your Dentist for clearance.

See a specialist: A migraine is not just simply a headache. Rather, it should be viewed as an attack that is accompanied by various neurological and non-neurological features as well as headache. Accompanying symptoms are facial pain, TMJ pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and blurred vision and sleep issues. See orofacial pain or headache specialist for evaluation and management.
