Gerd: Sounds like gerd.  You need a ppi like Prilosec or nexium (esomeprazole).

See doctor ASAP: Several allergic conditions and viral infections can do this. Newly acquired herpes is possible, also coxsackie virus and others. If you also have a skin rash, perhaps Stevens Johns syndrome. Some of these could be serious; return ASAP to the doctor who has been treating you.

Viral: If they are viral you can ask your pcp for Acyclovir tablets especially if you get them regularly and they will 'cure' them faster than mother nature; she takes 7-10 days. If you do not get them regularly the choice is yours. Mouth ulcers generally do not affect the throat so see your ent/dentist.

Evaluation Needed: If you have had this for 8 years, then it could be normal for you but you should get a second opinion to find out the diagnosis for your discomfort as it's not likely that it is normal for you.

: A negative 4th gen test at 9 weeks rules out HIV,
HIV is only one of the STDs. A condom may not protect against HPV, Herpes, LGV, syphilis, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.

Oh my ! Two issues : At once! miserable. Get your dentist to treat the ulcer with medication/prescribe topical meds. Lasers work well too. Your TMJ issue needs proper diagnosis. A good start is to locate a dentist that treats the issue ;get into a passive bite guard/splint that is balanced to your bite ; allows for proper function. Symptoms of "tmj" many times are more about muscle issues ; proper diagnosis is essenti.

Get some antacid liquid like maalox or mylanta and use a tablespoon of it swishing and rinsing for 1 minute after each meal and before bed. Decreasing acidity in the mouth helps to heal and prevent these ulcers.
