i was diagnosis spondylosis of thoracic spine without myelopathy. i went to a neurosurgeon but he just wanted to watch it. what will you suggest? please advise the pain is so bad it causes me depression, anxiety and hard to concentrate?

: Appears that surgery is not appropriate, which should be reassuring, as there is a risk of spinal cord complications with thoracic procedures.  Although medications could control pain and your emotions, would instead urge physical therapy, stretching, exercise, and a visit to a physiatrist.

: See a rheumatologist and exclude genetic arthritic issues such as ankylosing spondylitis, and inflammatory arthritides.  Decide upon potential medications, as needed.  See a physiatrist and design a rehab  program involving physical therapy and exercise.  Pay attention to hydration and sensible dietary measures avoiding inflammatory foods such as corn.  Good luck.

However, there are some states that ignore the federal law  &amp; have liberal access programs. The rules are made within each area, so you must look into this locally. For some, they could get access with a stubbed toe.

More informaton: needed/ This sounds like the spine of an older person not a 40 year old unless there has been heavy duty lifting as a part of the history! Schorls nodules are not really significant but the degenerative disc disease should be evaluated by Spine Specialist.

Exercizes: There are two therapies for neurogenic claudication.  Many patients who religiously perform the daily stretching and back strenghthening exercizes, get relief.  For those who don't decompressive surgery can improve quality of life.  Good luck.

Neck degeneration: Cervical spondylosis is an arthritic-like wear and tear degeneration of the vertebrae, and typically results in neck pain, stiffness, and decreased flexibility.   When the process results in bony changes, the spinal canal can narrow at various levels, and if the spinal cord is compressed, that can cause numbness, weakness, and bladder problems (result of "myelopathy").

Degenerative changes: Cervical spondylosis implies degenerative changes of the cervical spine. These changes will occur in everyone, & typically starts in the 2nd decade of life. It involves bone spurs, degenerative disc(s), includes tears in the annulus (structure that surrounds the disc material), herniated discs. Myelopathy is a disturbance of the spinal cord mostly due to a pathology compressing the spinal cord.

 When due to trauma, it is known as spinal cord injury.
Myelopathy is defined clinically by presence of bilateral upper motor neuron signs (pathological hyperreflexia and weakness), usually accompanied by bilateral sensory deficits, or sensory level, and bowel/bladder symptoms.
