Of all the Nerve.: Being numb after one week is well within normal limits. Sometimes there is little or no numbness and other times, well. Give it some time to recover, say several months.

: Pressure on nerves could alter functionality. You now know it is a bad ideat to do what you did. It is difficult to predict how long it would last but it is important to just go about normal activities. I hope you do not have other disease like diabetes or heavy metal/mineral disorder that could also affect nerve function; if not just wait for the nerve to recover. Professional exam is an option.

Nerve or blood flow: Numbness is usually due to a nerve irritation (pinched nerve, etc), a neurologic condition such as a stroke, a metabilic disorder such as diabetes or an electrolyte imbalance, or a blood flow issue (diminished flow).  All are treated differently so it's best to see your doctor to narrow down on the cause.

It might be: Numb due to the swelling. There are many reasons for swelling including side effect of medication, venous insufficiency, fracture, tendonopathy etc etc hence i would advise a doctors visit.
