Why is the top of my foot numb?

Nerve or blood flow: Numbness is usually due to a nerve irritation (pinched nerve, etc), a neurologic condition such as a stroke, a metabilic disorder such as diabetes or an electrolyte imbalance, or a blood flow issue (diminished flow). All are treated differently so it's best to see your doctor to narrow down on the cause.

Couple of things : It could be an injury or compression of the nerve to the top of your foot or it could be neuropathy. See a podiatrist.

Evaluation: You need an evaluation. Several things can cause numbness in the foot, sometimes a nerve conduction study can be ordered to better help determine the cause.
