my rotator cuff hurts 6 years after surgery. is that okay?

Depends: There are many causes of shoulder pain, even after surgery. There could be a new tear or retear (which can occur in 20-50% of the time depending on size of the original tear), there could be neck problems that cause shoulder pain, and there could be arthritis or biceps problems that are totally unrelated. On rare occasions, chest and abdominal problems could even cause shoulder pain.

i had rotator cuff surgery 2 years ago after surgery i have not been able to straighten out my elbow ever since. my elbow not hurts all the time especially when i care anything could the shoulder surgery have been a caused this?

3 weeks post op shoulder surgery repair torn labrum & torn rotator cuff. physical therapy started. is popping and clicking normal after surgery?

Yes, don't worry.: Not all popping and clicking is a sign of trouble. In fact, because of the swelling that occurs after most shoulder surgeries, it is common. Remember to ice, do gentle range of motion exercises and begin early strengthening as directed by you surgeon and carried out by your physical therapist. In time, the noises will resolve as you recover.

do orthopedic surgeon attach a torn bicep tendon to a rotator cuff? my rotator cuff already had smalls tears and my surgeon attached my bicep tendon to my cuff and the tendon ruptured about 4 weeks after surgery !! apparently im too old and a female?

: First 51 yrs is not 'too old' Nor has being female got anything to do with it. Recommend you seek treatment at an academic (University)  hospital orthopedic center. Therev arevproblems and there are solutions. Wishing you well.

Cuff injuries ...: Cuff injuries aren't all the same and aren't all treated the same way. Some injuries respond well to non-operative treatment with resolution of pain and without loss of function while many require surgery to alleviate pain and/or restore strength and motion. An orthopedic surgeon experienced in the treatment of these injuries is most qualified to help you decide what the best treatment is for you.

what does surgery for a rotator cuff injury entail?

Fix tendonto bone: Rotator cuff tears are not all the same. Partial tears are either left alone, lightly debrided or repaired. Full thickness tears often require repair of the torn tendon back to the shoulder bone (humerus, greater tuberosity). Surgery is either by open or arthroscopic technique using bone anchors and sutures to reattach the tendon to the bone. Rehabilitation is slow and deliberate for ~ 3 month.

Possibly: Rotator cuff surgery may involve debridement or repair of the rotator cuff.  Repair of the rotator cuff often necessitates sutures and commonly involve the use of suture anchors which are anchored into in the bones of the shoulder with suture to allow for repair of the cuff.  Closure of the surgical wounds often involves the use of sutures or staples; it depends on the preference of the surgeon.

You can.: With a successful repair and appropriate post-operative rehab, you should be able to resume powerlifting. However, you should be aware that you are more likely to incur a re-tear than most patients, because of the immense forces on the rotator cuff, associated with powerlifting.

Arthroscopic repair: The rotator cuff is a group of four tendons that coalesce together to form a cuff.  Usually the supraspinatus tendon is the one that's torn.  It's repaired to the bone where it belongs to an area called the greater tuberosity, with suture anchors. The surgery he's usually done arthroscopically. Depending on the size of the tear it can take about an hour to 1 1/2 hours to perform surgery.
