got hit accidentally by zip lock bag of ice near eye brow small gash. no pain near sight just sore bit swollen. should i worry about concussion?

Likely healing: But contact the physician who placed sutures to find out when these are scheduled to be removed.

i fell and hip my forehead 3 days ago, its black and blue and my eyelids are red, im not having symptoms of a concussion, do i need to get checked?

Possibly: Blood vessels around the eye are @ risk for rupture w/ falls or other injuries especially as we get older and the vessels are more 'friable' ( more easily injured from because they are less resilient). Probably a good idea to be. ' checked ' by your pcp to make sure no bony injury or other has occurred... Best of luck!

i fell on ice today, hit my nose, chin, and mouth on the ground. my face is scratched and my nose is swollen. is it possible to concussion like that?

Yes possible: The mechanism in falling and hitting your head could cause concussion but what are your symptoms.  Headache, nausea or vomiting, sleeping issues, concentration problems, personality change to name a few.  If worried see your GP.

i was accidentally elbowed hard in the nose yesterday and don't believe it is broke as it never bleed and looks in place just swollen. but have had a headache since then and am sleepy. could i get a concussion from that type of injury/ impact?

Elbow head injury: Drowsiness, headaches, lethargy are possible symptoms of a concussion. If symptoms are persisting you should be evaluated. THE NOSE IS THE LESSER ISSUE THAN THE BRAIN

Yes, but -: There are many causes, some mild (sinusitis) and some severe. If it persists see a doc! If you have had a concussion you should have already seen a doc!

Probably not: Definition of concussion includes being unconscious from the impact.  Injury mechanism of cork hitting eye unlikely to create enough impact for the brain to shut down temporarily.

Raccoon eyes ?: Basilar skull fracture can give you one or two black eyes. We sometimes refer to this as raccoon eyes.  I would get a ct of the brain with bone windows and attention to the skull base if you are still having symptoms.

Depends on symptoms: The extent of the black eye is important to know. If it encompasses the entire eye (ie. 360 degrees) and if there is double vision or limitation of movement of either eye, one would be very concerned about an orbital fracture. Also, if there are other symptoms such as headaches, nausea/vomiting, decreased level of consciousness-one should seek medical attention.

i was very drunk last night and walked into a pole. it swelled up right above my eye. i recall the event and most things after. concussion?

Not likely from Hx: Do you recall the details before &amp; after the event?  What or how did you feel when you got attacked by this rogue pole?  Were you dazed or disoriented (aside from the disorientation from the alcohol). If  you weren't dazed or lost consciousness then, you probably didn't suffer a concussion just a pretty good smack to the face &amp; a shiner to show but no TBI. You should report the pole to the police.
