Relatively Common: I am surmising you received Noocaine from your dentist.  Having an injection anywhere can rupture blood vessels  from the injection.  Sorry!  Use Ice packs for 15-20min 2-3x Daily over the affected area for a few more days will help.  If you have further concerns, you should seek the help of a healthcare professional.

Lidocaine is an amide and novocaine an ester local anesthetic respectively -- this refers to their chemical structure and bonding that dictate onset of action, duration of action and metabolism to some degree.  Essentially, they both have the same action.

There are safer, more effective local anesthetics that should be used in place of Novocaine.  In addition, I would not recommend that anyone attempt to manufacture a prescription drug  intended to be injected into the body.  Please do not attempt to do this.
