i hurt my knee running and it has a little swollen bump underneath the knee? is this serious!? it's been four days and i haven't stopped my activities

Probably not: Not sure how u hurt your knee or if u fell on it or bumped it... Sounds like u have prepatellar or infrapatellar bursitis.Common and often after a fall or just by getting bumped on your knee.Ice, NSAID may help if swollen. No other specific treatment is necessary unless it becomes infected or recurrent( and painful)... Old term "housemaid's knee". See md if persists and for definitive dx. Gl!

my osgood schlatters knee bump is bruised and swollen. i never hit it on anything.i conditioned a lot this week with volleyball. running and jumping?

Aggravated/workout: This area is an attachment point for the muscles of your upper leg. During growth it can go through a phase where it is soft and prone to the shearing effects of your muscle contractions. It is aggravated by your workouts as they pull the muscle tight and tug on this anchor point. Anti Inflammatories like naproxen (Aleve) and Ibuprofen can help but some have to stop workouts to stop the  pain

hi. i have had a hard bump on bone in between ankle and knee. been there for a few years. started running, now terrible occasional pain. whats wrong? thought was shin splints but why does the lump/bump hurt?

Get examined.: Any change in a longstanding lump or bump needs to be evaluated. Please see your doc,and back off the running 50%  (be sure you warm--up and stretch thoroughly before and after.any exercise)

i crashed longboarding and i sprained my ankle.from my knee down my leg swelled up  most of the swelling went don't but there is still a hard bump ?

Get x-ray: It is difficult to say without examining you.  If bump is painful you should definitely see your doctor....This could be your family doctor, an orthopedist or a podiatrist.  You should have an x-ray to begin with to see if an of the bones or joints have been injured.  Further testing like an MRI may also be necessary depending upon severity of injury.

: Bat bites typically appear as two small puncture wounds, approximately one centimeter apart depending on the specie of bat. Incubation period of rabies can be weeks to months but local paresthesia (the leg in your case) is not one of the early symptoms. Furthermore, your last vaccination was 7 years ago so you are still somewhat protected if you truly got a bite with a sick bat.

my two year old son has red bumps under his chin and his arm and leg and he  itches. he is coughing ,running nose ,fever what could this be?

Mild Virus: This pattern suggests a mild virus with an allergic component (itchy rash).  Support the child with fluids, Tylenol (acetaminophen) for the fever, and Benadryl for the itching if it bothers the child enough.  If the fever lasts more than 2 days take your son to his doctor to be checked.

ACL tear: Sounds like an anterior cruciate ligament tear. You should see an orthopedic surgeon to discuss options. We are amidst an epidemic of female ACL tears especially among the young soccer players. This problem  is a source of ongoing research with the current focus on pre-injury movement screening and corrective exercise for neuromuscular imbalances that seem to be common among female athletes.

See below: Sounds like a baker's cyst, which is a collection of excess joint fluid which makes it's way out of the knee capsule to the back of the knee between two muscles. It is not a serious condition, but usually indicates an arthritic issue in the knee. It can cause discomfort. Sometimes we drain these but they usually come back. You shoud get your knee examined to determine if this is what it is.
