See below: Sounds like a baker's cyst, which is a collection of excess joint fluid which makes it's way out of the knee capsule to the back of the knee between two muscles. It is not a serious condition, but usually indicates an arthritic issue in the knee. It can cause discomfort. Sometimes we drain these but they usually come back. You shoud get your knee examined to determine if this is what it is.
