Evaluate: Left supraclavicular swelling  may be Virchow node involvement.  That can represent malignant spread to neck from tumor below diaphragm.  It can also represent left axillary spread to supra clavicular node.  Scan and possible bx indicated.

i can feel some very tiny supraclavicular nodes that are very soft in my 5 year old sons neck on the right side.
is this significant.
he is a an active guy,but is petite?

We all have nodes: Lymph nodes are like little beans. The feel like beans of various sizes but similar shapes. Areas of multiple enlarged beans can mean a problem. If the beans grow together in a mass and start to stick together or onto something else, that can mean a big problem. Individual, movable beans less than a dime in diameter are usually ok in kids, teens, and young adults. If worried, Dr can examine.

Word games: By a crude definition if it is above the clavicle some would consider it "supra"clavicular. However, the supraclavicular node group is a specific anatomical label &amp; these are located at &amp; adjacent to the clavicle. The location you cite would be the lower end of the cervical node group. At that age they have little significance when they are as you describe.

No: That's a superstition. Actually, a big node at the medial end of the left clavicle, where the thoracic duct drains into the jugular vein is a common sign that one has carcinoma and it's too late -- so no hurry in getting diagnosed. Pathological nodes are obviously abnormal -- rock hard, or grow very big, or are stuck to something they shouldn't be.

Need more info: Enlarged lymph nodes occur for a variety of reasons. You need to have a complete exam. If these lymph nodes persist, then further diagnostic imaging and possibly a biopsy are needed.
