TSH of 2.6: A TSH of 2.6 is normal, therefore, i would ask you to ask your doctor to look elsewhere than your thyroid for the answer to your symptoms and get a plan to treat them.  Other things cause symptoms of hypothyroidism in those patients with a normal tsh. Good luck.

No: If you take a modest amount of magnesium supplement  (about 300 mg daily) it should not effect asymptomatic sublinical hypothyroidism.

i was diagnosed with sub clinical hypothyroidism with an 8.3 tsh then 3 months later i got retested and it was 3.3 tsh. i show classic hypothyroidism symptoms from not being able to lose weight to digestive issues. what could cause tsh to fluctuate?

Thyroid replacement?: You didn’t mention, but the doctor who diagnosed “sub clinical hypothyroidism” probably gave you thyroid replacement therapy.  If so, that will cause your TSH to fall (to a normal range).  That’s good.

Sick thyroid syn.: Sick thyroid syndrome is becoming increasingly common and better described over the last decades. Usually a systemic disease, such as an infection is causing transient malfunction of the thyroid and  your description seems to fit the picture. Follow up with same doc is critical specifically if having lingering symptoms.

can sub clinical hypothyroidism affect fertility? i have hashimoto's; tsh levels were up and down for years. unable to get pregnant during that time.

Yes: Thyroid disease is one of many issues we consider for those unable to get pregnant. It's important to get your thyroid condition treated appropriately & optimally. And then it's even more important to monitor your thyroid function throughout your pregnancy as it can & will change, requiring different doses. So go see your family doc, OB or reproductive endocrinologist for preconception counseling.

Depends: Did the original ultrasound showed anything suspicious: a nodule, a cyst, a mass?  If everything was ok on the first ultrasound, you don't need another one this soon.

High TSH but with: Normal thyroid levels. It "usually" entails a symptom free state but if the cause is autoimmune in nature, there might be some signs or symptoms. The thyroid profile will need to be monitored regardless.
