Nucleolar Pattern: There are many different kinds of the nucleolar pattern. It can be speckled, cytoplasmic etc. Knowing what the pattern was is important in trying to figure out what is going on. That being said, if all you know is that it was nucleolar it can mean that you have some sort of "overlap" syndrome, which can include lupus, sjogrens syndrome, crest, scleroderma etc.

Hard to interpret: Antinuclear antibody tests are famously inconsistent because even when they are done correctly by the lab (and often they are not), the immune system is chaotic and results can vary tremendously from week to week. Ana's, especially at low titer, mean nothing apart from the clinical picture. Try to stay physically fit, and forget about the ANA unless your physician is super-concerned.

Elevated ANA nucleo: Why was the test done?  What symptoms ? 1;320 is usually considered elevated   . Did they do Scl or anti-centromere or Topo I or antiRNA polymerase III, anti- U2 RNP,  anti- Th these are also markers of scleroderma./CREST.  Liver/GI  disease Crohns, ,other autoimmune diseases like thyroid , meds liek Dilantin , procaine, hydralazine can elevate ANA . Rrepeat in 2-4 week  f/u/ w/ rheumatolog

Blood tests: Nucleolar pattern is associated with scleroderma, but is also subject to interpretation.  If there are signs and symptoms of disease, then a nucleolar ANA may be significant.  With no specific signs and symptoms, it is more likely to be a red herring.

See below: Do have you neurogenic bladder or have problems with severe vaginal dryness or incontinence/retention issues?  I can see where an ANA would be drawn, but usually there are other symptoms that are present at the same time.

i just got my results for ana test.  my lab reports as follows, 1:320 with nucleolar pattern negative.  isn't 1:320 a high positive?

Just positive: An ANA of 1:320 is a positive result. I would not call it "high positive" but positive is positive. The degree of positivity is not that important.
