Have it evaluated.: Cultures would help in determining the appropriate antibiotics.  Debridement of infected wound and bone may be needed.  Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be a good adjudicative treatment for a bone infection.

i have open sores on my chin that i cannot get to go away. they have puss coming out. it is getting pretty painful. how can i get them to go away? what are they? they are red and swollen and in the mornings i have the most pain.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggests an infection and may require prescription antibiotics and you should consult a doctor.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

How often?: Depending on how often these occur it may be worthwhile to try suppressive therapy with an anti-viral like gancyclovir.

May be infected...: Sores that leak fluid may be infected, and those that have a bad odor may have some rather undesirable bacteria in them. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can evaluate and get one started on treatment, plus be able to give a diagnosis. Rashes are difficult to describe in words, so do need to be examined.

Sores on scalp: A number of conditions could cause this, like a bacterial infection of hair follicles (folliculitis), a fungal infection of the scalp, acne, inflamed seborrheic dermatitis and a number of others.  All of these need an evaluation by a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.  Some of these conditions could lead to scarring and hair loss.  Please see your doctor right away.
