Sores on scalp: A number of conditions could cause this, like a bacterial infection of hair follicles (folliculitis), a fungal infection of the scalp, acne, inflamed seborrheic dermatitis and a number of others. All of these need an evaluation by a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Some of these conditions could lead to scarring and hair loss. Please see your doctor right away.
