i have some small red itchy bumps on the back of my hand. they come and go every week or so. what is this?

Hand eczema: The most common causes are irritant (too much hand washing) or contact allergy. Pay attention to the type of soap and hand preparation to see it changing the brand would help (no scented, anti-bacterial soap) or gel).  If you wash you hands too often, consider wearing a non-latex glove on some of the chores and apply a lotion after washing whenever possible as well as reducing hand washing

i have red itchy bumps on my knuckles and they would appear and disappear. they're also always in the same spot ( my knuckles) what is it?

Contact dermatitis : Red itchy bumps are often caused by an allergic reaction, such as insect bites or contact with chemicals/substances as in contact dermatitis.

Another condition is dyshydrotic eczema which presents commonly with small fluid filled blisters. Cause is unknown but may be related to allergies or stress.

Rare autoimmune diseases such as granuloma annulare may also present similarly.

i have red itchy bumps on my knuckles and elbows. they've been there for about 2 months and don t show signs of going away.  what can i do about it?

Red itchy bumps: If you haven't already, start with avoiding any hard scrubbing or washing with soap on those areas.  Use a daily barrier ointment like aquaphor immediately after shower.  You can also try a otc steroid ointment for a week or so to see if it improves.   Rashes are notoriously difficult to diagnose and manage without a picture so make sure you see your doc if not improving.  Good luck!

burned left middle finger a week ago w/hot glue. has thick scabs w/sunk in places covers almost whole finger . really red swollen w/itchy bumps around finger also even though there is nothing on hand it hurts, itches &swollen at knuckles what to do?

Hand burn : With the entire finger being burned and it causing problems for this period of time it would be recommended that you see your primary doctor to have the hand examined for further management.

Reaction to aloe: Sounds like good possibility.  Try topical Hydrocortisone 1% cream otc.  If that doesn't work, time to see the dermatologist.

Try hydrocortisone : Try over the counter Hydrocortisone cream.   Contact allergy, insect bites and the like will generally respond.  If the rash looks infected however, the cream will not help.

Itchy bumps: Small bumps can occur on the skin for a variety of reasons, but when they are "ichy" it is usually an indication that they are a "reaction" to something - an "allergy". You may be allergic to something that your skin is coming in contact with like a soap or lotion - could also be clothing. Try to find out what is causing the reaction, eliminate it, and see if it gets better. Steroid cream may help.

Many possibilities: Hives localized to the inner thighs may be due to multiple causes. The area is warm and one thigh can rub against the other. It can be due to cloth or chemicals in pants, just to give a few examples. Wear non-tight pants; when itchy, apply Sarna with pramoxime. Otherwise, keep dry with cornstarch or talc. Take an antihistamine such as fexofenadine or cetirizine. No help - see your physician.

Outbreaks of itchy: red bumps are very common and have many different causes: allergy related hives, especially if you've contacted something new (natural/leaves/plant or artificial/household chemicals). A red itchy rash can go along with being sick (chicken pox/impetigo) or parasites (scabies). Try some OTC cortisone cream and antihistamine for a day or two ... then to Derm if persists.
