i am experiencing shortness of breath without chest pains or numbness after over exerting myself in colorado a few weeks ago . i have become concerned as 55yr old with acute sleep apnea, my symptoms seem like theyve worsened !! thanks?

: "Acute sleep apnea", is it the right term you use? Shortness of breath is not equal to sleep apnea which only occurs during sleep and patient does not recognize it. If you mean you have trouble breathing when lying down for sleep, that is not acute sleep apnea but it is orthopnea. If you are no longer in Colorado and orthopnea gets worse, you should see a doctor.

all pft normal frc in pft normal also but tlc and rv are mildly increase..been having shortness of breath since i had covid chest feels tight off n on dr said nothing to worry no lung disease what do u think is it okay ?im obese n have sleep apnea?

: COVID infection in the lungs causes a characteristic "fluffy infiltrate" pattern in the lungs.  Therefore, for someone experiencing persistent shortness of breath after COVID, it's worthwhile getting a careful pulmonary exam as well as a chest X-ray.

: I would look for other reasons for your symptoms. Congestive heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is more of a clinical diagnosis than an echocardiographic one according to some clinicians. Was your EKG normal? Chest X-Ray ok? Anemia? Proteinuria? Low serum albumin?   Pulmonary disease, chronic venous insufficiency are other possibilities . However if you have sleep apnea, get it treated

: Lung problems years ago in someone your age suggested something u Might have been born with.  Discuss with a Dr who can see and examine you. And get TBC skin test.

Nike Commercial Wisp: When things are EASY to do  often times their value is minimal.  When things are HARD to do then, almost always results have IMPORTANT VALUE. Do you take your medication and follow directions of your doctor for your asthma? Does "don't like sleeping..." mean that you DON'T use your machine as you should? Then, you will feel tired and be breathless. And nobody will be able to fix it. "Just Do It."

when i sleep on my back (&only then) i awaken gasping for air for a few seconds only. doc doesn't think sleep apnea. is this consistent with nocturnal paroxysmal dyspnea despite the fact that i regain my breath so quickly & it only occurs on my back?

Apnea: Have you had a sleep study?  If there is concern for sleep apnea this test should be performed.

Probably not, but: It sounds like there are quite a few symptoms that should be evaluated. 
An echocardiogram would tell about your heart function and potentially if there are any heart structural reasons for fatigue, palpitations, shortness of breath. An event monior would help assess if there is a heart rhythm cause of palpitations.
An 18yo with hypertension is unusual- will need consideration for other causes.
