Yes: Stress causes the body to release cortisone compounds and adrenaline compounds. When the stress stops your body feels a drop in these like steroid withdrawal, thus the increase in symptoms. There are other hormonal mechanisms in place as well.

Need  to know more: You need  to define why you have  the fatigue. Is it due to the sjogren's? What are  the manifestations of the  sjogrens that cause fatigue: anemia? Lung disease? Kidney disease? Etc. Many people have  fatigue because they don't sleep well. Be cetrtain that a sleep evaluation is  done. It could  be sleep apnea or restless  legs  syndrome. It might  not  be related  to the sjogren's. Ask the doctor.

hx of hashi's & sjogrens. had cortisol checked b/c i've had fatigue and it came back high. could this be due to hypothyroidism somehow still?

Cortisol: I doubt that your high cortisol is from hypothyroidism - but it is sime enough to test your thyroid with blood tests also.  High cortisol can cause thyroid resistance which can mimic hypothyroidism - but the thyroid gland is not the problem.

swelling/fatigue w/ bun/crea ratio high at 26, but normal crea & bun levels. i'm also a sjogrens & ostoearthritis patient. what does this mean?

Swelling: More information is needed about your swelling. If it's edema of the lower legs it could stem from venous insufficiency, liver disease, protein loss through the kidneys, heart failure, excessive salt intake, protein deficiency, certain medications,etc. Your MD will take a thorough history, perform a physical examination and order appropriate tests in order to make a diagnosis.

Agree: Sjogrens autoimmune... Effects skin, connective tissue, sun sensitivity, dry mucus membranes... Anything goes.... Need great nutrition and appropriate rest to keep system happy.

have sjogrens no complications yet except for fatigue  i have seen many specialists and gp's.have mild neuropathy in lower extremeties should i be worried about lymphoma if blood work is normal?

Unknown: Rheumatoid arthritis, sjogrens's syndrome, lupus and celiac disease may share an associated risk of a b-cell lymphoma as well as intestinal lymphoma. These lymphomas may be present even if your labs are normal. Mri might be helpful, but not for screening purposes. Best to ask your rheumatologist.

Sjogrens: Depending on the symptoms of sjogrens, a person might see a number of doctors, any of whom may diagnose the disease and be involved in treatment. Usually, a rheumatologist (a doctor who specializes in diseases of the joints, muscles, and bones) will coordinate treatment among a number of specialists. See a rheumatologist.

can sarcoidosis/sjogrens/raynauds/chronic fatigue syndrome be managed by a gp alone or do they need to be managed by a hospital doctor/s or both? thx

Depends but: A hospital doctor in contrast to a doctor in an academic/ university hospital is not the one to go to.  I would suggest that  you consult someone in academic medicine in your case at a university or tertiary care center near you.   It is likely to complex for most GPs.

The clinical picture: It is often difficult to determine whether sjogrens is a primary diagnosis or secondary to other connective tissue disorders such as lupus. . The lip biopsy is not foolproof but if salivary glands present were all normal then i would suspect that lupus was primary and the sjogrens was secondary.

periodic body aches/muscle pain, sore neck glands, fatigue x 3 months, no fever.  mom has sjogrens. mono/strep negative. last week stiff neck x 1 day?

Need  more informati: We need  more information. Ask your physicain to evaluate you. There are a lot  of possibilites but we need  laboratory and history and physical data that your physician will do.
