Augmentin: Not my first choice for dental infection.  Antibiotics, by the way, do not cure infected teeth, only prevent spread of infection for as long as you take it.  You would need at lest 5 days worth.  Yes, safe to take.  But remember the tooth itself will require treatment for a cure, so see your dentist as soon as possible.

See a dentist ASAP: A tooth abscess won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by draining it and getting rid of the infection. You must see a dentist to feel better.

No: I would see your regular physician to have the other symptoms diagnosed. You may need to be on an other antibiotic. The tooth needs to be treated as soon as possible as well.

No: Bad sinus disease if left untreated can cause intracranial infection or even brain abcess.  The infection erodes through the bone and covering of the brain.  This can cause meningitis, but not necessarily spine infection.

Rarely: Usually it is the other way around. The dental abscess erodes into the sinus. Sinusitis can definitely cause tooth pain As the nerves for your upper teeth run along the floor of the sinus and the pressure and inflammation from the sinus irritate the nerves. If your are having severe tooth pain have your dentist check to make sure there is not a dental problem contributing to your sinus problem.

A real sinus infection would require one type of antibiotic; a tooth-related infection could require one of several different antibiotics depending on what is causing the infection.  Best treatment is to have a professional evaluate the cause and prescribe the right medicaiton.
