A member asked:

I took augmentin in may for a sinus infection, i now have a tooth infection is it safe for me to take augmentin again so close to each other?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Augmentin: Not my first choice for dental infection. Antibiotics, by the way, do not cure infected teeth, only prevent spread of infection for as long as you take it. You would need at lest 5 days worth. Yes, safe to take. But remember the tooth itself will require treatment for a cure, so see your dentist as soon as possible.
