son has ear tubes. fluid draining from one ear. has sinus drainage too. take him to doc bc of ear drainage? worried it's ear infection.

See Doctor: Given his history of recurrent ear infections and ear tube placement I would definitely have him seen by his pediatrician for further workup and evaluation.

Use a decongestant: Make sure it does not interfere with other medications.  I wound start with saline nasal spray and intranasal  steroids spay.

Unlikely, possible: it is possible but  unlikely. 
I would make sure there is nothing else wrong in the ear. Like fluid in your ear? or it can be from your irrigations some times. 
Check with your doctor.

Need to examine: The cause of pain needs to be ascertained and addressed. By just taking pain medication, you may be masking an infection in the ear.
It would be prudent to see a doctor.

i have sinus congestion but pain in only one ear. its not infected. is it common or normal to have pain in one ear only from sinus pressure?

: A painful ear is not a characteristic of sinus congestion. If the ear drum isn't inflamed, the ear pain could be from blockage of the eustachian tube, which goes from the upper nasal passage to the middle ear, from congestion in the upper nasal membrane. In this case, a nasal decongestant spray should help.

Yes. Yes: Yes. Fluid in ear (otitis media) common with sinus infection. See Md for antibiotic therapy. ENT best bet.

every time i bend over, for the past year, and following a lumbar puncture,  i hear a loud thump of fluid in one ear. do i have a csf leak? it's not sinus or allergy related i've ruled that out.

Middle ear: The symptom you describe sounds like an issue with fluid in your middle ear, and is unlikely to be related to your prior lumbar puncture. You may want to get a doctor to examine your ear.

after 2 years w tubes my 5 yr old is having brownish black drainage from one ear. yesterday there was blood  and brown drainage....is this ok?

NO: No. May be that the tube is coming out of the ear drum (normal) and bleeding results. See ENT doc who placed tubes for evaluation.

Several: Several things can cause these symptoms. The most common one is ear infection, possibly chronic but this can be serious. Other causes such as tumor are possible and should be excluded. You need to visit an ENT physician and get a scan of your sinuses. Good luck!

: If you state you have an ear infection, than it must be treated. See an ENT specialist for exam and treatment ,don't try to self exam and treat. Infections spread and cause more harm if not treated.
