A crust or hair. : Sometimes a crust from sinus or nasal mucosa can tickle or create foreign body sensation. It often an elongated nasal hair can trigger such a reaction.

Accepted Answer

No: If you are using Netipot, don't use tap water - it can lead to protozoal infection.  Either boil the water or use sterile saline.

Accepted Answer

Likely: I have many patients that use this technique.  You should ensure that you are not riddled with environmental allergies that either need to be avoided or be sensitized to.  Sinusitis is possibility too which would require other treatment.

: You may have forced water/wash solution into the Eustachian tube and into your middle ear. It would be prudent to consult an ENT doctor. Do not use nasal washes as there is no medical reason for these.

: Saline wash may not improve hypertrophy symptoms unless mucus is accumulating there. Consult your ENT doctor. Even if the surgeon recommends surgery, you do not have to agree. Ask about risks, benefits, and alternatives. If unhappy, get a second opinion

i have sinusitis with pressure around my cheekbones. i have been using flonase two puffs twice a day and nasal wash three times a day for a week per doctor instructions. feeling slightly better,but not much.  how long before i should feel better?

Be "patient": patient !   The main effective ingredients is a steroid (cortisone-like) drug.  Another week at least!

Allergy shots: They avoid a daily medicine. Also some doctors prescribe sublingual drops that desensitize you to allergens without medicine.

can you use flonase or azelastine nasal sprays if you have covid or other viral infections that affect your nose or respiratory system? i'm asking because these drugs are immunosuppressants so concerned about adverse consequences?

: With an active covid infection I would skip the flonase (a corticosteroid) and use the azelastine and a decongestant nasal spray like sudafed according to instructions may reduce nasal membrane congestion for you if you're clogged up.

Usually: Phenylepherine can raise blood pressure in some people. If you have high blood pressure you are better off avoiding most decongestants. The best plan is to ask your pharmacist before adding any medication, as she can check on the computer for any interactions.

my sinus problem never persist even after my nasal opetation. i have to rely on oral medication for certain time. what is the best cure?

It depends: From what i gather, you still have sinus problems after sinus surgery. Very broadly, persistent allergies, smoking, possible need for revision surgery, problems with the immune system, ongoing exposure to germs (e.g. Kindergarten teachers), and a tendency for sinus polyps to regrow are possibilities.  Rarely is surgery a total "cure, " so it is important to follow up or maybe get a second opinion.
