: No, you definitely have SLE with lupus nephritis. You need to follow closely with your family doctor along with specialists. Both rheumatologist and nephrologist' care is necessary and you will likely need another medication besides prednisone. Kidney biopsy is indicated and it should be done if it has not been done yet.

how do i get rid of chilblains ? i have bad circulation in my hands and feet so it is hard to keep them warm.

Chilblains: I'm sure you know the basics: avoiding cold exposure, and keeping your hands and feet warm. Cortisone cream to alleviate itching and swelling, and avoid scratching. Vitamin d and calcium supplements have been used anecdotally. However, you will need to see a physician for other treatments such as vasodilators (nifedipine). Good luck.

ive 5 red spots on a toe/nail. they are painless and dont blanch when pressed. its been a year and is not chilblains. a new spot formed on the bottom of the same toe recently. a dr said its a blood flow issue and dont worry. what could it be?

id like some advice on how i can ease my 16 year old sons fingers. he seems to have developed winter fingers (chilblains). what can he do or use to help the burning itch?

It depends: Chillblains are a form of tissue injury that exposure to damp cold can cause.  Treatment will then be at keeping the feet warm, dry, and offering symptom relief.  Some medical conditions can predispose you to this (such as connective tissue disorders).  Some have luck with medications (calcium channel blockers) to prevent recurrence.  Talk to your doctor.

Chilblains are not as severe as frostbite.
