Depends: There are many factors that survival depends on.  These include other medical conditions, rapidity to treatment, the specific pathogen causing the sepsis, ability to use certain medications (e.g. Allergy restrictions), social history (smoking, drugs), etc.

Depends: It depends on the other aspects of the disease process; vital signs, labs, how the patient appears.  Septicemia is simply the presence of bacteria in blood, and is a fairly old term.  Sepsis is the idea that there is an infection that is causing a systemic response (fever, high white cell count, fast heart rate, fast breathing rate).

Good with treatment: Believe it or not, we have data from World War 2 concentration camps where there were plenty of doctor prisoners but no treatment available.  They found that the mortality rate of untreated appendicitis was only ~5%.  With treatment, mortality will be lower, although the course may be pronged prior to getting well.

Not good: Cannot give you a number, but the prognosis is  bleak. Depends on the age of the patient, cause for sepsis (what started the infection), co-morbidity (other diseases the patient might have-in this case pf sepsis, diabetes would be bad to have).

Depends: The risk of death in sepsis depends on the number of organ systems that are impaired/affected.  A rough mortality estimate is 20 percent risk per organ system (ie if lung and kidney affected a rough death estimate would be 40 percent).

Since we can't see : It hard to tell. So you have any medical issues that would complicate the problem? Hopefully, you were put on the correct antibiotic and with proper wound care you will be ok.

: Difficult to answer. Generally such changes are gradual and ongoing. Functionality is not always co=related to mri findings. Mental change  may or may not  occur after sepsis depending on the nature, duration and treatment used. I wish I could give you an ironclad answer. There is none. wish your husband a speedy recovery from this.

Poor: There are no specific  numbers available. A thorough review of existing status (med records, lab values, blood pressure, meds required at present,etc.) might provide a better set of odds but most who reach that point do not survive.

: Do others agree your looks have changed significantly? Have a thorough medical assessment by a specialist in internal medicine. If no definite pathology is found, I assume your pelvic issues are resolved.  I believe you'll be reassured greatly. If not consult a psychologist to fully understand what's bothering you about your looks especially if others don't see major changes in you.
