Seems benign : These are chronic, long-standing changes. Why was the x-Ray taken - for "routine checkup" or did you have symptoms, like a cough? Have you had a TB test? It would be best to have your physician advise you. The x-ray findings don't seem problematic (therefore, they seem benign). But ultimately, it does depend on your symptoms &amp; the reason the test was ordered. Hope that helps.

when laying down i can feel a bulge near tailbone area. there's no pain. if i push in near tailbone but more butt cheek area. i can feel a bump or something moving. it feels bony and moves when i change position. what could this be?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described may be just a normal coccyx. You may watch and wait, If you have additional symptoms, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Get it checked.: Any new mass, whether soft tissue or bone needs to be evaluated. A mass on your rib could be a healed fracture, arthritis at the bone-cartilage joint or it could be a tumor. You need to get it seen by a doctor now.

Showing your age: This just means that there are no inflammatory changes seen on your spine but some bone spurs that are reaching across disc spaces from one bone (vertebra) to another which is a sign of age related or degenerative changes of the spine rather than a spine arthritis or spondylitis

saw an ortho doc for bony lump in arm. after x-ray they said it was  bone & result of elbow ligament bunching up. said there were changes in bone but not cancer. should i seek 2nd opinion?

Probably not : This is a fairly common problem around the elbow joint.  If the x-ray showed normal bone and the lump is not enlarging or become tender, then there is probably no need to seek an immediate 2nd opinion unless you are really worried about it.  Sometimes people need the peace of mind of a 2nd opinion, so if you are worried, by all means get a 2nd opinion.  See doc again if it's enlarging or tender.

Recent active item: Acute refers to the length of time an abnormality has existed. Acute refers to usually within the past two weeks or sooner while subacute is on the order of two weeks to 4-6 weeks and lasting longer than that would be referred to as a chronic condition.

Examples of acute bony abnormalilties would be a recent fracture, infection, new onset of bone tumor.  Acute also implies an active disease.

Eat more: Calories than you burn. Even drink a supplement like boost in addition to 3 very good meals and snacks. Limit exercise to weight bearing will help. Some people just have thin genes.

Surgery: After evaluation by a physician, surgical removal the bony growth would be the only definitive procedure.  If they aren't painful and aren't causing problems, the best thing to do might be to leave them alone.

Hand problems: You will need to see a doctor licensed in Canada for a specific diagnosis and advice - most likely will need examination.
