Possibly: what you describe can be found in cases of scoliosis.   An exam, or even a look in a full length mirror. Can give you some information as to,that.  The rib cage attaches to the spine. If the spine is bending , the rib cage will follow. And may appear asymmetrical. One side could be higher.  That could cause pain with respiration.

It may in the sense: That a turned rib cage is a sign of the spine's twisting or rotation which is what a scoliosis deformity is all about.  Muscle imbalances such as those related to certain syndromes or conditions or even related to paralysis can be associated with a scoliosis as well.

Probably scoliosis: Speak to your doc about it and he will examine you and maybe get an x-ray exam. You almost certainly do not have a cancer but your anatomy is a bit unusual.

Scoliosis: Is you are having symptoms from your scoliosis it's important that you see the orthopedic surgeon for further treatment options such as: physical therapy, a brace, or surgery. Good luck and hang in there, I know it can be a painful condition

Hard to tell: Without looking at the X-ray it is difficult to say. But if the curve is bad enough then it may very well cause breathing problems. Best talk to your doctor and think of necessary  treatment

i have scoliosis and the dr said my shoulders and hips look even but today i noticed my left rib cage is sticking out more is this related to dyspnea?

No and it is not : uncommon as scoliosis is a rotation or twisting of spine just as if you coiled a rope so there can be prominences of rib cage on one side &amp; of scapula or shoulderblade on opposite side.  The fact that shoulders &amp; hips are level suggests that your curve is balanced.  Only very large curves can affect breathing.  By age 19, if curve measures less than 50 degrees, there is little risk of worsening.

mid back and rib cage pain. flares up with wearing bra, certain movement. had shingles in july. also have scoliosis. is this thoracic spine or nerves?

Nerve pain: After a shingles outbreak, it can be very common to develop something called Post-herpetic neuralgia which is nerve pain after shingles. It can take several months to resolve and can be very painful and limiting of your activities. Try to avoid anything that causes an increase in your pain, including use of a bra. Once this syndrome resolves you can go back to normal activities.

will a benign fatty tumor compounded by scoliosis near left rib cage show up on a chest ct scan? feels like when i turn it wants to lock up on me.

Possibly : Ct scan could potentially show a lipoma, but it does not show soft tissues in the spine real well.  A better test that readily demonstrates soft tissue structures is an MRI.
