i have had 3 scad heart attacks the last of which was 8 weeks ago. last night i felt extremely nauseous. was this a precursor  to another heart attack?

Unknown: Nausea alone is a very unusual initial presentation for a heart attack but you can never say "never." how did your other attacks present? Also, i assume you have been treated? Betablockers, plavix, (clopidogrel) and a statin have all been shown to significantly lower the incidence of recurrence. Do you have an icd or has it been discussed?

after a mi, 3 strokes, scad, thrombus, now quivering chest pain always from 1 am and 5 am. if mssge my chest roughly,  qvring subsides. what is this?

Hard : To say. Given previous history the concern would be for an arrythmia. See your cardiologist for further evaluation.

i experienced scad, an am now on a low dose aspirin daily. my stomach has increased gas pressure and constipation, can i reduce the aspirin to 3-4 times per week to help? thanks?

Accepted Answer

: It is safer to take antacid (mylanta) or histamin 2 antagonist (famotidine or cimetidine) for the heartburn and laxative as needed for the constipation in the mean time, then asking your cardiologist or family doctor for a different antiplatelet medication such as clopidogrel (plavix) to replace aspirin.

Like an x-ray: It's like a simple x-ray - you lie in a small, partially enclosed space while the exam is performed.  Sorry, i don't have pics or video for this one!

Fetal health: CTG is cardiotocography , a device monitoring fetal heart rate and contractions during pregnancy. Also called electronic  fetal monitor (EFM). Amniotic fluid index (AFI) is a measure of amount of amniotic fluid in cm. determined by ultrasonography and is measure of fetal health. AFI normal values 8-18.

MCI: Mild cognitive impairment can present in different ways. Pure amnestic(short term memory loss) mci is  now known to be pre alzheimers- 12-15% of these patients will progresss to ad per year. Non- amnestic mci where other areas of brain function are affected is not pre ad; it may remain stable. Both types of mci need close follow up to monitor for progression of illness.

Staging and planning: Staging scans are typically done in setting of newly diagnosed cancer to determine the stage (1–4) of the cancer. The more advanced the stage the lower the long-term survival.

Planning scans are typically done by surgeons prior to an operation in order to determine anatomical layout and to plan the approach of the surgery.

is there pain involved in a hiada scan?

Hiada scan: Usually there is no pain associated with the scan itself however it can precipitate a gallbladder attack.
