i had lymph node increase in size and go down in size .right now its small about a bean size and it will sometimes enlarge after eating and than immediately shrink.sometimes hurts.feels like a marble moves.had it for 3 months. what should i do? wait?

Watch and wait: You may feel the node every couple of weeks, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.

when a lymph node is removed swells, had 
a drainage tube for 3 days.sent home n swelling again. do u think the drainage tube was not in long enough?

Not sure: I am not sure why you had a drain at all, if it was a single lymph node. . I would suspect that you have either a hematoma or seroma. 3 days should be more than adequate time for a drain, we usually get our drains out within the first few days, unless the drain continues to have output of greater than 30 cc in 8 hours.

i had vocal cord surgery about two weeks ago to remove a polyp and about three days ago i had a lymph node swell under my left jaw.is this normal?

: A lymph node in that location processes serum from the nearby throat/gums and skin structures. I  would not assume it has anything to do with a procedure over 10 days previous to the noted change.

Reactive lymph node: Hi:
if the lymph nodes remains normal for the most of the time and swells intermittently (likely due to inflammation from infection or small trauma such as canker sores etc), then it's less likely to be serious.  However, if you find the lymph node staying enlarged persistently without an obvious cause, you should visit your doctor to see if further work up is needed.

The screeners: Lymph nodes in the groin are a screening system for tissue fluids (not blood) from the leg or nearby tissue. They usually increase in size when working to clear serum of bug bites or other debris. If they swell enough to be painful they may be infected enough not to self heal. If so the doc needs to see you and decide what to do.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Lots of causes : Melanoma is a very deadly type of skin cancer.  If you are concerned about melanoma because of a swollen lymph node, i would suggest you see a dermatologist who can do a complete full body skin exam as well as check the lymph nodes.  From there, an assessment can be made as to what to do next.  Lymph node swelling with or without tenderness can be caused by many many things.  Get it checked out.
