A member asked:

Hi, im a 17 year old female and around weds/thurs of last week, my lymph node in my groin started to swell and its now very painful to the touch.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The screeners: Lymph nodes in the groin are a screening system for tissue fluids (not blood) from the leg or nearby tissue. They usually increase in size when working to clear serum of bug bites or other debris. If they swell enough to be painful they may be infected enough not to self heal. If so the doc needs to see you and decide what to do.
