recurring pain on left side near bottom of rib cage? i have scoliosis, and it's almost as though the area is a boney bump, compared to the other side? could i just be feeling my own rib/ scoliosis by causing the pain and asymmetry? (scared of cancer)

Probably scoliosis: Speak to your doc about it and he will examine you and maybe get an x-ray exam. You almost certainly do not have a cancer but your anatomy is a bit unusual.

Curved spine: It is normal to have 12 ribs. There is a slight curve at the top of your thoracic spine. At t7, the vertebra looks more trapezoidal than rectangular. May indicate a compression fracture, or is normal for you. These findings need to be put in context of any symptoms you might have. If you have no symptoms, there is nothing that needs to be done. Check with a spine specialist.

2) practice good osteoporosis prevention (calcium intake/weight bearing exercise/dexa scan surveillance/meds if necessary).

Derotation hard: We are bettter at at straightening curve s rotating the spine with the tools we currently have is limit correcting the rotational deformity of scoliosis which cause the rib hump is technically difficult to accomplish the ribs not enough leverage, ribs themselves can have ther own deformity that can't be corrected by correcting the spine deformity s.

It may in the sense: That a turned rib cage is a sign of the spine's twisting or rotation which is what a scoliosis deformity is all about.  Muscle imbalances such as those related to certain syndromes or conditions or even related to paralysis can be associated with a scoliosis as well.

No: Yoga is wonderful for reaching and maintaining mental and physiological health. Rib humps secondary to scoliosis, however, are fixed and not improved by yoga unfortunately.

Possibly: what you describe can be found in cases of scoliosis.   An exam, or even a look in a full length mirror. Can give you some information as to,that.  The rib cage attaches to the spine. If the spine is bending , the rib cage will follow. And may appear asymmetrical. One side could be higher.  That could cause pain with respiration.
